What to Bring and What Not to Bring for Your Stay at NFL

Pack enough for two (2) weeks. Bring both indoor and outdoor clothing appropriate to the season.  Laundry facilities and laundry soap are available. Please note this list is not inclusive and management reserves the right to store property as they see fit.  

Bring

  • All personal hygiene articles including bath soap, deodorant, shampoo, razors, toothpaste, toothbrush and tampons
  • Blow dryer/curling iron
  • Casual clothes
  • Walking shoes/tennis shoes
  • Socks (several pair)
  • Sweats
  • Jacket, sweatshirt or heavy sweater
  • Bathrobe, slippers and pajamas
  • Money for laundry machines
  • Prescriptions for any approved medications
  • Phone card for long distance phone calls

Do Not Bring

  • Any medications not pre-approved or without prescription

  • Over the counter medications unless for a specific condition

  • Alcohol based mouthwash, hydrogen peroxide, perfume, or isopropyl alcohol or any items that contain alcohol

  • Your car

  • Comforter

  • Scissors (of any type), mace, pepper spray, knives

  • Clove cigarettes, chewing tobacco

  • Cell phones, computers, pagers, palm pilots

  • Portable CD/Tape Player/Boom Boxes  

  • No Face Metal

Optional

  • Multivitamins (one nationally recognized brand)

  • Stuffed animal                                                            

  • An extra blanket (no bedspreads)
  • Cigarettes (money for cigarettes)
  • Watch and alarm clock
  • Personal address book, stationery, stamps and books  
  • Sunglasses (if used)

From the 405 Freeway Southbound

  • Exit 710 Freeway South

  • Follow directions for 710 Southbound.

From the 405 Freeway Northbound/ 22 West

  • 22 West towards Long Beach to the 405 North (After awhile the 22 merges with the 405 Freeway.  However, stay to the right because you will be exiting right after the merge.)

  • Exit at 7th Street

  • Stay on 7th until you get to Redondo Ave.

  • Turn left on Redondo Ave. and take it till the end (Ocean Blvd).

  • Turn right on Ocean Blvd and proceed to 2211 E. Ocean Blvd.  Our facility is between Kennebec and Junipero on the right hand side.

From the 710 Southbound:

  • Take the 710 to the end (it splits with the right side going towards the port and the left side going towards downtown).

  • Stay on the left side. The freeway will end and turn into Shoreline Dr.

  • Do not get off at Broadway stay to the right and stay on Shoreline Dr. until you come to Ocean Blvd.

  • You will know it’s Ocean - there is a large old apartment building with a green roof on one side and a round building on the other.

  • Turn right on Ocean and proceed to 2211 E. Ocean Blvd. Our facility is between Junipero and Kennebec on the left hand side.

Reminders
  • The first seven (7) days, you do not have phone privileges. You may send and receive mail.

  • Please note that all packages and containers of any type are to be searched by staff upon arrival at New Found Life.

  • All visitors are to report to the office upon arrival.  

  • All deliveries must be between 9-5pm Monday through Friday at the administrative offices only.

  • Pets are not allowed on visiting days.

  • We recommend that you do not bring expensive jewelry or large amounts of money to the facility.
